AIRPORTS
The closest airports we suggest booking flights to are:
BARI - BRI
Roughly a 2.5 hour drive from where we would suggest staying - offers a scenic drive down the coastline! This the largest of the two airports, and more likely to offer more direct travel routes.
BRINDISI - BDS
Roughly a 1 hour drive from where we would suggest staying - offers a scenic drive down the coastline! This is the smaller of the two airports, and more likely to require layovers, even for our UK based guests.
WHERE TO STAY
The towns we suggest booking accommodation in are:
OTRANTO
The largest of the towns we’re recommending. More tourist based (so more people speak a level of English), with a variety of restaurants, shops, beach bars, beaches and cave coves to explore locally! Only 35 minutes from the villa.
CASTRO
Smallest of the towns we would suggest staying in. A cute small town, and marina with Santa Cesarea Terme up the road (with one of Puglia’s most famous beach clubs). Lots of caves to explore, and a stunning historic old town. Only about a 30 minute drive scenic drive up the coastline from Castro for day trips!
A slower pace, and a lot more of a small town Apulia feel with less to do, but the opportunity to ‘switch off’ a little more. Less touristy, and in turn fewer people speak any level of English. On 20 minutes from the villa, and only about a 30 minute drive scenic drive down the coastline from Otranto for day trips!
